Clinton and Garrison earn First Team Region honors; four more earn awards

Six Eastern softball players earned 2020-2021 NJCAA Region 2 Division I Awards.

Ryleigh Clinton and Ananda Garrison earned First Team All-Region honors. Gracie Woods earned Second Team All-Region honors. Nene MezaJaycee Hampton and Kerli Ashing earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Clinton, a freshman catcher from Stilwell, Okla., played in 50 games for Eastern this season. She finished the regular season batting .405 with 18 home runs and 74 RBI.

Garrison, a freshman utility player from Pittsburg, Texas, was named Region 2 Player of the Week for April 5-11, 2021, and played in 40 games for the Lady Mountaineers this season. She finished the regular season batting .385 with 7 home runs, 30 RBI and four stolen bases.

Woods, a freshman infielder from Wright City, Okla., was named Region 2 Player of the Week for Feb. 22-28, 2021, and played in 45 games for Eastern this season. She finished the regular season batting .364 with 8 home runs, 43 RBI and one stolen base.

Meza, a sophomore outfielder from Moore, Okla., has been a mainstay in the Lady Mountaineer lineup for three seasons and played in 46 games in 2021. She finished the regular season batting .383 with 21 RBI and 16 stolen bases.

Hampton, a freshman outfielder from Owasso, Okla., played in 40 games for Eastern this season. She finished the regular season batting .328 with two home runs, 10 RBI and five stolen bases.

Ashing, a freshman infielder from Oktaha, Okla., played in 50 games for the Lady Mountaineers this season. She finished the regular season batting .345 with five home runs, 31 RBI and 18 stolen bases.
