Student Government holds monthly meeting

By JORDAN JONES, Staff Writer
Every month the Eastern Student Government Association, or ESGA, has a meeting. This
November it was held on the 1st at 3. The meeting was to discuss various Homecoming details,
as well as other happenings or any concerns on campus.
In attendance were Brett Hoffman, President; Bradon Boston, Vice President; Jordan Jones,
Reporter; and several club representatives. The staff members present were London White,
Lucas Hedgecock and Candance Raney. Teresa Brady also appeared briefly.
After signing a paper for attendance, the group began the meeting discussing upcoming sign ups. Sign
ups for all Homecoming events, which is Nov 6-11, were due on Friday, Nov. 3. Events that
needed sign-ups were Gurney Races, Chili Cookoff, Cornhole tournament, Capture the Flag,
Talent Show and the Mountaineer 5k.
Attendees then made a plan to decorate the light poles in front of the library at 3 p.m., Nov. 6 for
Homecoming.
Teresa Brady then stepped in to ask for help working the Mountaineer 5k and for clean up after
the Hall of Fame on Friday.
After Homecoming details were finalized, the members moved onto the next campus events. The
next event will be held on Nov. 13, to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day. This
activity will let students come and decorate posters with kind and encouraging words. Raney and
Hedgecock will then put them out in the lawn on Tuesday in order to spread kindness to
everyone on campus.
The other events mentioned were the Aggie Club Dance that will be held on Nov. 27 and
Bingo on Nov. 29 at 6:30.
