Annual library food drive kicks off Oct. 23

By NICHOLAS DUNBAR, Staff Writer

Eastern is again holding its annual food drive during the next few weeks in the library. The goal is to collect enough food to give to those in need for the upcoming holiday season. Both students and staff can pick up what they need, as well as request people to send a food basket to. Non-perishable items such as canned food, rice, pasta, and crackers are welcomed.

“We are very grateful to the generous donations from everyone at Eastern,” says Library Director Maria Martinez. She added that just bringing one or two items from home you’re not going to use could go a long way.

The drive will be held from Oct. 23 through Nov. 15. This time of year can be hard for some people, and this is one way to help. If any donations are left after the drive ends, they will be donated to the food closet located near TRiO in Johnston Hall.

For more information or to request a basket, contact Maria Martinez by phone at 918-465-1711 or by email at mmartinez@eosc.edu.
