Mountaineer Mania welcomes high school students

By JORDAN JONES, Staff Writer

Mountaineer Mania is the day that Eastern invites any high school students to come and visit. This year’s mania is being held on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 10-Noon. Several hundred students are expected to attend.

Attendees will get a chance to meet with EOSC’s President, Janet Wansick, Student Government President, Brett Hoffman, and get information regarding everything on campus. All campus clubs and organizations have been encouraged to have a booth present.

The day will start out with a welcome presentation and an EOSC Student Panel discussion. Prospect Students will get to ask the panel any questions or concerns they might have. After the conclusion of the panel, everyone will go into breakout sessions. During this time students will choose one area of interest to visit and EOSC faculty will be presenting information and handouts. Students will be able to learn about the different majors and academic programs offered here as Eastern, as well as information about financial aid, scholarships and student housing.

Next on the agenda is the Information Browse. This is where prospective students can go from table to table as they please. They can also get a stamp from each table in order to enter themselves in a drawing for a scholarship or door prizes.

Students are then able to enjoy a free lunch where there will be music, lawn games, cornhole, and various activities.
