Single-sign on aims to make things simpler for students

Eastern is upping the ante on technology across the board with a new single sign-on system for Blackboard, Self-Service and your student e-mail. It was implemented to decrease the number of passwords across the board, to access applications.

“Eastern is moving to a Single Sign-On (SSO) service that allows users to access multiple services without having to re-enter a separate login and password for each,” Trish McBeath, Vice President of Student and External Affairs said in campus communication.

The way it works is to go to ‘My EOSC” option at the top of the Eastern website, type in your last name and social or student Identification number, the screen will then display your student E-Mail, which is your E-Key, and your default password with is your birthday in the format MM/DD/YYYY.

It is important that students activate their E-Key on Google before it will work on any other applications. This great new update will hopefully reduce the number of forgotten passwords and stress trying to Log-on to applications.
